In My Feelings - Festive Edition

With the upcoming festive season fast approaching I felt it was only right to write an edition on it.

This time of year, can be a tricky one to navigate for various reasons. Whether you celebrate it or not, the societal pressure to buy copious amounts of gifts for loved ones and family dynamics, just to name a few.

One of my personal highlights of this time of year is getting to spend time with my favourite people. I feel lucky and grateful for this as I appreciate for many this might not be the case.

I often think back to my favourite Christmas memory which was 2022. Full of love, laughter and quality time with loved ones. For me that’s what it’s all about. 2022 wasn’t without its minor hiccups, as when I went to start cooking dinner my oven broke. That wasn’t going to deter us though, we got the dinner cooked by any means necessary, mainly with the help of the trusty air fryer. It definitely made the day more comical.

Then comes New Year. I always feel like this is a pivotal moment, even though essentially it is just another day. Taking stock of the year that we’re leaving behind and the trepidation of what’s ahead. Making any New Years resolutions that we may wish to make. I tend not to make any, and if I do, they are always quite small and usually doable. I feel like otherwise I’m just setting myself up for failure as I have a tendency to talk myself out of things.

My wishes for next year, as most years are nothing fancy. I don’t crave material things anymore as I age. First and foremost, I wish that all my loved ones are healthy and happy. That they find their peace amongst the chaos that life can bring. That they know my door and heart are always open to them. That I’m excited to make more memories together.

I’m also looking forward to carrying on with In My Feelings, it’s something that has provided me with so much joy this year. Lastly, to see Sleep Token live next year when they finally release some UK tour dates. I know this is the consensus of many UK fans. Vessel please, all we want for Christmas is you!

I hope that next year can inspire more kindness throughout the wider world. That we treat others how we wish to be treated. That we let that car out of the junction. That we carry out random acts of kindness for strangers. That we take the time to slow down and look around at all the beautiful nature this world has to offer.

If you’re reading this, hi! Thank you, it means the world that you have taken the time out of your day to share in my ramblings. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, however you may spend it and that 2026 brings health and happiness.

Just me In My Feelings.
